چکیده
Abstract Background We investigated the spatio-temporal dynamics of soil carbon dioxide (CO 2 )- and methane (CH 4 )-flux during biological crust (BSCs) deposition in a sand-binding area eastern Chinese Hobq Desert. The trends organic (C) content density were analyzed this process. sampling sites comprised mobile dune (control) those with algal, lichen, moss crust-fixed sands. desert CO - CH -flux, temperature, water measured from May to October 2017 2018. Simultaneously, C by stratification. Results variation -flux was apparent. average fluxes control, 1.67, 2.61, 5.83, 6.84 mmol m −2 h −1 , respectively, growing season, -fluxes four − 1.13, 3.66, 3.77 µmol respectively. Soil temperature significantly positively correlated but could not influence absorption, flux had minimal correlation content. total at all different decreased as follows: > lichen algal control; moreover, it depth sites. accumulation enhance emissions. Conclusion In semi-arid desert, artificial planting promote sand fixation BSCs succession; therefore, increasing storage capacity soils decreasing emissions alter cycle pattern ecosystems. is major factor controlling vegetation restoration, development response patterns moisture conditions soils. results provide scientific basis for studying

Ecological Succession, Hydrology and Carbon Acquisition of Biological Soil Crusts Measured at the Micro-Scale
The hydrological characteristics of biological soil crusts (BSCs) are not well understood. In particular the relationship between runoff and BSC surfaces at relatively large (>1 m(2)) scales is ambiguous. Further, there is a dearth of information on small scale (mm to cm) hydrological characterization of crust types which severely limits any interpretation of trends at larger scales. Site diffe...

Carbon sequestration in sugarcane plant and soil with different cultivation systems
Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is a multi-purpose crop, mainly planted in South-western (SW) parts of Iran. However, the capability of sugarcane farms to sequestrate carbon into soil and plant is not well documented. In this research, the carbon sequestration in sugarcane plant and soil in a ratooning traditional cultivation system at the Amirkabir Sugarcane Agro-Industry Complex...
متن کاملSuccession of N cycling processes in biological soil crusts on a Central European inland dune.
Biological soil crusts (BSCs) are microbial assemblages that occur worldwide and facilitate ecosystem development by nitrogen (N) and carbon accumulation. N turnover within BSC ecosystems has been intensively studied in the past; however, shifts in the N cycle during BSC development have not been previously investigated. Our aim was to characterise N cycle development first by the abundance of ...
متن کاملAnalysis of environmental factors determining development and succession in biological soil crusts.
Biological soil crusts play important ecological functions in arid and semi-arid regions, while different crust successional patterns appeared in different regions. Therefore in this study, the environmental conditions between Shapotou (with cyanobacterial, lichen and moss crusts) and Dalate Banner (with only cyanobacterial and moss crusts) regions of China were compared to investigate why lich...
